LBG’s expert guidance enabled a client to complete procurement contract negotiations with the U.S. Government.
Challenge:
A large antibody product developer and producer on the East Coast was entering into negotiations for their first procurement contract with the U.S. Government. Since the client had limited experience working with the U.S. Government and no experience negotiating procurement contracts, they needed advice on how to approach the negotiations. They wanted LBG to provide education and guidance to help them prepare.
The client partnered with LBG because of our team’s experience with U.S. Government negotiations from the perspective of both the U.S. Government and the client.
Solution:
Our experienced team of experts developed a client education program on how to approach U.S. Government procurement contract negotiations as well as the U.S. Government’s approach to these negotiations. The client had limited involvement in the development of the training program. However, we presented it to key personnel at the client’s organization and addressed their questions.
The training program and presentation on negotiations of U.S. Government procurement contracts were developed and presented to the client’s key personnel over the course of a month prior to the start of their negotiations with the U.S Government.
Results and Impact:
Our advice and support enabled the client to complete procurement contract negotiations with the U.S. Government. As a result, they secured a long-term procurement contract, which puts them at the front of the line when the government needs to respond to a public health emergency. This procurement contract was exercised by the U.S. Government as part of its COVID-19 response to procure medicines to respond to the pandemic.
